Little Blue
“Little Blue” is a lively oil painting done in oils with greens, reds, pinks and a
little blue. The painting was created with many tools, including long-haired thin brushes connected to the end of a
mop stick. The long-handle allows for free movement of the whole body while dancing around the paper." The title expresses my sadness about the current art scene where conceptual ideas in art replaced visual expression. One art director of a leading museum of contemporary art declared he would not show any paintings and another artist declared that "visual art did not have to be visual." For me, I want my paintings to speak to the eyes as music speaks to the ears. I want this piece to express the joy of painting as well as my feeling a "little blue."
